Biography

Jeannine Hanger鈥檚 research, writing, and teaching revolve around the New Testament, with a special affection for the Gospel of John. More specifically, she enjoys exploring sensory and embodied elements of the biblical text. She first joined the Biola community as a graduate student (2000-2009), then stayed on as an adjunct professor (2009-2021), and has been teaching undergrads full time since 2021. Her love for teaching stems from her passion to help students of the Word to know and love God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength. To that end she is also deeply invested in the local church alongside her husband, who is a pastor at Coastline Covenant Church in Redondo Beach. Together they live in the South Bay along with their three young adult children.
