Talbot's Kyiv Extension Celebrates its 10th Anniversary

Talbot School of Theology’s extension site at Kyiv Theological Seminary in Kyiv, Ukraine, celebrated its 10-year anniversary on June 10. Talbot staff, faculty and administration, including Talbot Dean Clinton E. Arnold attended the celebration with alumni and current students. Close to 70 people were in attendance for the celebration’s conference and time of worship, giving thanks to God for his abundant blessings on Talbot’s efforts to develop disciples in Eurasia.

In light of ongoing military conflict and political and economic challenges facing Ukraine, the conference’s theme was “Leadership in a Time of Crisis.” Dean Arnold opened the event by sharing greetings and congratulatory remarks from Biola president, Barry H. Corey, and delivered a message on “Taking Perspective in a Time of Crisis.” Judy TenElshof, Talbot professor of Christian ministry and leadership, also gave a talk titled, “Secure Relationships for Facing Crises.” Talbot alumnus Eric Oldenburg (’95, M.A. ’02) closed the conference with a message on “Facing Crises Like Jesus.”

God continues using Talbot to further his mission and kingdom in regions facing major crises — a cause for celebration and thanksgiving.

Eric Oldenburg

Eric is a program administrator at Talbot School of Theology and adjunct professor of biblical and theological studies. He currently teaches theology and hermeneutics courses at Talbot, but has also taught philosophy, apologetics and biblical studies courses both in the U.S. and in Ukraine. He is working on his Ph.D. in Theology, specifically studying the wills of Christ. He also enjoys preaching and will never say no when invited to preach about the parables of Jesus.
