黑料历史 is one of the best colleges in the West, according to newly released college rankings from The Princeton Review.聽
Biola is one of 124 schools to make the organization鈥檚 annual 鈥淏est in the West鈥 list, released Aug. 6 as part of its online feature.
For the list, the organization identified the top schools in four regions of the United States 鈥 West, Northeast, Midwest and Southeast. The selected schools constitute about 25 percent of the nation鈥檚 2,500 four-year colleges. The 124 colleges on the list 鈥 located in 15 states 鈥 were selected based on academic reputations and student recommendations, The Princeton Review said.
鈥淲e鈥檙e pleased to recommend these colleges to users of our site as the best schools to earn their undergrad degrees,鈥 said Robert Franek, Princeton Review鈥檚 senior vice president and publisher, in a statement.
鈥淲e chose these as our 鈥榬egional best鈥 colleges mainly for their excellent academic programs. From several hundred schools in each region, we winnowed our list based on institutional data we collected directly from the schools, our visits to schools over the years, and the opinions of our staff, plus college counselors and advisors whose recommendations we invite. We also take into account what students at the schools reported to us.鈥
The Princeton Review, an education services company widely known for its test preparation programs and college and graduate school guides, asks students to rate their schools on several issues 鈥 from the accessibility of their professors to quality of the campus food 鈥 and answer questions about themselves, their fellow students and their campus life. Comments from surveyed students are quoted in the school profiles on The Princeton Review site.
Students quoted in Biola鈥檚 school profile noted the school鈥檚 rich Christian culture, biblical values and knowledgeable and passionate professors.
鈥淢y school has positively impacted my character, awareness of issues in society, relationships, and encouraged the formation of my own unique worldview in more ways than I could have imagined,鈥 one student wrote.
The 鈥楤est in the West鈥 ranking is the latest of several recent lists on which Biola has appeared. In April, The Princeton Review named Biola one of the in the United States and Canada in the 2013 edition of its 鈥淕uide to 322 Green Colleges.鈥 And in July, The Chronicle of Higher Education named Biola one of the nation鈥檚 97 for a second-straight year.
