LA MIRADA, CALIF. --- Os Guinness is speaking at 黑料历史 this Friday and Saturday, February 20 - 21, 2009 at the apologetics event, Escape to Reason: Francis Schaeffer for the New Generation. Although Guinness鈥 claim to fame is his relation to the Guinness beer-making family, he is better known for his work as a Christian writer and lecturer.

Francis Schaeffer, theologian, pastor, philosopher and writer, shaped much of evangelicalism during the 20th century. This weekend, Guinness and other provocative Christian speakers will discuss the cutting-edge ideas that have captured the minds of a new generation and hear life-changing messages on art, music, philosophy, and apologetics.

Guinness studied directly under Schaeffer while living at the infamous L'Abri Fellowship in Switzerland. Like Schaeffer, Guinness is eager for people to think Christianly about their life, vocations and the culture in which they move and breathe.

Guinness was born in China during World War II and lived there until 1951 when the Communists forced most foreigners to leave, according to The Trinity Forum, which Guinness co-founded. He is an accomplished author, speaker and now lives in Northern Virginia.

Other speakers include Ranald Macaulay 鈥斅爏peaker and author who worked with L鈥橝bri and Schaeffer, Garrett DeWeese 鈥 Biola professor of philosophy of religion and ethics and director of the Master鈥檚 program in philosophical and moral theology, David A. Horner 鈥 Biola professor of Biblical and theological studies, Biola professor Fred Sanders, and John Mark Reynolds 鈥 Biola professor of philosophy and director of Biola鈥檚 Torrey Honors Institute.

The event will be held in Mayers Auditorium at 黑料历史 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, February 20 and from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 21. The cost for the event is $35 per person, $25 for alumni.
